News Product Management Certification: what you need to know about the program

On Wednesday, April 10, the News Product Alliance hosted a Zoom Info Session on the News Product Management Certification (NPMC), the program we developed in partnership with the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY.

Feli Carrique, the executive director of the News Product Alliance, and Kyle Plantz, the Senior Program Manager at CUNY, provided a comprehensive overview of the program, curriculum, and application process. Briar Cromartie, NPMC instructor for the first cohort for the ‘Ensuring revenue sustainability with a clear monetization strategy’ class, joined the conversation to share more about what you will learn in the program.

The NPMC program is tailored for mid- to senior-level news professionals who want to drive strategic decision-making, innovation, and operational change within the news industry. It will bring together a diverse cohort of 25-30 participants from across the global news industry.

Applications for the NPMC are open until May 2. Between June and July, the NPMC team will focus on reviewing all the applications and selecting the new cohort. The program officially starts on September 3 and ends on December 19, 2024. Apply now!
