Check out the NPA Summit program!

The program for the NPA Summit 2025 is live: 50+ sessions. 80+ speakers. Two full days in person.

From operationalizing audience insights, to rethinking editorial–product collaboration and preparing for AI’s impact on user relationships, these sessions reflect the practical challenges and opportunities our community is navigating.

Whether you're shaping strategy at a long-established newsroom or building something new from the ground up—this event is for you. You’ll hear from leaders at legacy organizations like The New York Times, The Associated Press, and Reuters, from startups making outsized impact like Lookout Local and The 19th, as well as from tech organizations such as Airtable, Newspack, ByteDance, and Yahoo.

Here’s a look at just a few of the confirmed conversations we’re eager to host:

  • Anthony Maggio (VP Product, Airtable) on how AI is reshaping user relationships and the product discipline;

  • Zach Seward (Editorial Director of AI Initiatives, The New York Times) on running experimental product teams in newsrooms;

  • Mariah Craddick (Executive Director of Product, The Atlantic) in conversation with Thomas Aagaard and Sebastian Winther (Managing Editor and Head of Product and Growth, Zetland) about balancing power between editorial and product;

  • Briar Cromartie (Head of Advertising Product & Technical Operations, Vox Media) on building resilient ad tech products in a shifting audience landscape;

  • Ambika Sharma (AI & Cybersecurity lead for U.S and Canada, Google Cloud), Bharat Krish (CPO, Newsweek), and Yann Kronberg (Founder & CTO at Zazmic) on building AI-powered discovery tools with lean teams;

  • Kat Downs-Mulder (Senior Vice President & General Manager at Yahoo News) on discoverability and platform fragmentation;

  • A panel with Tyson Evans (CPO, ProPublica), Michael Donohoe (CPO, Rest of World), Sapna Satagopan (Product & Innovation Director, Newswell), Darla Cameron (CPO, Texas Tribune) and Andy Cheatwood (VP Product, LAist) on what product leadership is in mission-driven organizations.

About the NPA Summit

The NPA Summit 2025 is a high-impact, hands-on gathering for mid-to-senior level professionals driving news product strategy and execution—whether or not “product” is in their title. For the first time, this previously virtual event becomes an immersive, in-person experience, purpose-built for news leaders working across editorial, audience, business, and technology. Far from a typical industry conference, the Summit offers a collaborative space to strengthen product expertise and tackle shared challenges.

This year’s sessions dive into real-world solutions and emerging trends—from scalable infrastructure and audience trust to post-platform innovation, AI applications, and sustainable revenue strategies—making it an unmissable opportunity to connect, grow, and lead in the evolving news product ecosystem.

Participating at the
NPA Summit 2025

  • For the first time, the NPA Summit 2025 will take place in person! Join us in Chicago, USA, on October 23 and 24. The event will take place at Venue SIX10, located at 610 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL 60605. Tickets are on sale—you can purchase yours here.

    Since this year’s Summit is in person, we chose Chicago to enhance the ease of international and domestic U.S. travel. We will also record some content to make available for participants who can’t join us on-site to ensure accessibility. Stay tuned for more details about how to participate!

  • The NPA Summit 2025 is designed for mid-to-senior level professionals driving news product strategy and execution. This is a gathering for news product managers, editorial leaders, and other news professionals who operate at the intersection of editorial, audience, business, and technology—whether or not “product” is in your title. The Summit is a space for those ready to collaborate, network, and tackle challenges facing the news industry.

  • To make the NPA Summit as accessible as possible, we offer a range of ticket options. Here are the tiers for tickets to the News Product Alliance Summit (plus ticketing fees):

    • $575: This ticket tier reflects the actual cost for each attendee of the NPA Summit and is for people from organizations that provide full professional development budgets for employees, such as large news organizations with more than 250 employees, and nonprofits with budgets over $2 million.

    • $475: This tier is for people receiving partial support from their organizations, such as those from news organizations with less than 250 employees, nonprofits with budgets under $2 million, and other similar-sized organizations with reduced support for professional development.

    • $375: This tier is for people who are paying their own way and do not receive support from their employer.

    • $0: Community-supported tickets are available at no cost for product thinkers who would not otherwise be able to attend, ensuring representatives of small and community-focused publications have the opportunity to participate and contribute to the Summit. You can apply here.

    Here's the most important thing to know about these ticket prices: We want you to choose the one that makes sure you can be at the Summit. We don't review who pays what, and we won't follow up with any questions. If you work for an organization where budgets have already been set or there's no support available to you, choose a lower price and join us. By the same token, if you budgeted for some costs you no longer have to spend and are able to purchase a ticket at a higher tier, please do. In addition, if you would like to contribute to the Summit, you'll have the option to add a donation as part of the ticket-purchasing process.

    We based these tiers on community feedback. Ticket funds are a huge part of what makes it possible to organize an event with costless tickets, and the support of a skilled event team in preparing sessions and constructing a schedule that lets attendees focus on learning and talking together.

    If you have any questions at all about ticket pricing, please reach out.
